Society of Salome’s 5th Anniversary Victorian Tea Dance
The Trafalgar Tavern
Sunday 27th September | 12.00pm - 6.00pm Society of Salome’s 5th Anniversary Victorian Tea Dance Step into the world of James Tissot at the Trafalgar Tavern, as Society of Salome celebrates its 5th anniversary with a spectacular Victorian Tea Dance, in collaboration with Paris qui Danse. Inspired by Tissot’s beautiful depictions of 19th-century social life, the event will take place in our historic Nelson Room, a setting featured in several of his paintings, overlooking the Thames and Royal Naval College. Our friends from Paris qui Danse will lead guests through beginner-friendly historical dances, recreating the elegant atmosphere of French and English salons of the 1870s and 1880s. With period costumes, historic dance and the stunning surroundings of the Trafalgar Tavern, it promises to be a truly memorable afternoon. A dance class will also take place the day before for anyone wishing to familiarise themselves with the steps. Tickets for the class are available separately.
