Much Ado is fundamentally about two people who won't admit what they want, dressed up as high comedy. This production sets that against a world where everyone's performing, where reputation actually matters, and a single slip can undo you. Beatrice and Benedick are just the clearest example of a pattern everyone's caught in.
What makes it work is that the stakes feel contemporary. You're watching bad behaviour, social calculation, the mess of attraction tangled up with image. Walker's staging leans into that - all style and late nights, the kind of environments where status is currency.
