The Coborn is a Young's pub tucked into the Victorian terraces of Coborn Road, sitting between Mile End and Bow Road in the East End. It started life as The Coborn Arms in 1848 and has been run by Young's since 1984. These days the focus is firmly on food and drink: seasonal British plates, sharing boards, pies and Sunday roasts, alongside Young's cask ales, cocktails and wine. The one thing worth knowing if you are coming for darts: there is no dart board here anymore. A 2015 refurbishment extended the pub and turned the old darts area into dining space, so this is a dining-and-drinking local rather than a darts pub. No darts here anymore

If darts is why you found this page, here is the honest version. The Coborn used to have a darts area, but the 2015 refurbishment extended the pub and converted that space into dining, and CAMRA's pub records confirm there is no current dart board. The pub does keep board games behind the bar, so there is something to do over a pint, but you cannot throw arrows here. For a proper E3 darts night you will want a different local. The Coborn instead leans into being a comfortable food-and-drink pub, which is what most regulars come for now.

Entry is free, as you would expect from a neighbourhood Young's pub, so you can just walk in. The kitchen runs roughly noon to 10pm Monday to Saturday and noon to 9pm on Sunday, with seasonal British food, famous pies, sharing boards and homemade Sunday roasts. Behind the bar you will find Young's cask ales (London Original and London Special), cocktails and wine. There is a front garden, it is dog-friendly, and a function room is available. Your nearest station is Mile End (Central, District and Hammersmith & City lines, plus the DLR), only a few minutes' walk away, which makes it an easy stop coming from the City or further east. Bow Road station is also close by. The pub is open Monday to Thursday 11am to 11pm, Friday and Saturday 11am to midnight, and Sunday noon to 10:30pm, so there is plenty of time for a slow afternoon roast or a late-evening pint.
