About The Butchers Arms
The Butchers Arms is a large free house on the High Street in the centre of High Barnet, close to Sainsbury's and The Spires Shopping Mall. The site was once a butchers shop with an abattoir behind and below, which is where the pub takes its name. It reopened in January 2016 after a major refurbishment and now trades as an independent free house.
Beer is a point of pride here. The pub pours an ever changing range of four cask ales, often sourced through SIBA, and it holds a Cask Marque award. That focus on quality real ale at reasonable prices has earned it a following among local drinkers who want a well kept pint without a big price tag.
