About Chandos Arms
The Chandos Arms is an award-winning community-owned pub on Colindale Avenue, a five-minute walk from Colindale station. A handsome traditional pub with Tudor-style black beams, it was named Community Pub of the Year at the Great British Pub Awards and has been a genuine local hub ever since, with a log fire and a well-kept range of real ales.
The kitchen is a big draw. Expect homemade burgers, stone-baked pizzas and proper pub classics, with a full Sunday roast and Yorkshire puddings at the weekend. It is a warm, family-friendly place by day and dog friendly throughout, with outdoor seating for warmer evenings and a weekday happy hour.
There is something on most nights. The Big Quiz runs every Thursday from 7:30pm, free to enter with a bar tab up for grabs, and a monthly open mic on the second Wednesday showcases local talent. Add regular live music leaning jazz, funk and soul, plus karaoke, DJs, bingo and big-screen sport, and the events week rarely goes quiet.
Getting there is easy: it is moments from Colindale on the Northern line and close to the Edgware Road, with buses and street parking nearby. It works as well for a quiet pint by the fire as it does for quiz night or a weekend session.
