This is a stage show built from club culture. Uchenna Dance take Vicki Igbokwe-Ozoagu's choreography and build something bigger around it. A fictional nightclub where characters arrive as strangers and leave as themselves. The movement vocabulary is house, waacking, vogue, African and contemporary, all woven together into something that feels both specific and generous at once.
What makes it work is that it's genuinely curious about why people go to dancefloors in the first place. Not for the spectacle but for the connection, the place where you get to be yourself. It's won major dance awards. Sadler's Wells East is where to see it.
